This week’s theme is Mindful Moments.
Set some time aside to relax and do something you enjoy. You could put on some relaxing music, perhaps with a relaxing scene and engage in some sensory play or water play.
You could try some threading whilst listening to music, with pasta or beads.
You could use some of our previous Hub links to try some yoga, or breathing activities.
Use the sensory Lightbox- in our sensory section of Springwell Essentials – a great sensory resource with cause and effect visuals and sounds.
Use the Twinkl resources to do some mindful colouring or take part in a senses mindfulness challenge.
Create a rainbow wind chime using some twigs- see the printable Twinkl instructions.
App 'Heaven'. Move the jellyfish around and listen (if you wish) to relaxing music- very calming and relaxing
App: 'Breathe, Think, Do with Sesame'. Actions: relax, breathe, wellbeing. Frustration is a normal part of life, but it can overwhelm and bring up a lot of big feelings. It is helpful to use the “Breathe, Think, Do” strategy to calm down, identify their feelings, and work to solve their problem.
Listen to different sound effects and create soundscapes HERE
Take a mindful moment using the ideas on the cards.
If you can lie down outside and have a look at the sky and how the clouds move. This can be a very relaxing activity.
Bubble Balloon game- Can you touch the ‘bubbles’ really gently- throwing them up carefully and then watching them come slowly down. Can you throw them gently between you.
Make a Texture Bag- Put lots of feely materials into a bag/ pillow case to put your hands in a feel different textures.
Try a Mindful Pose- Pose like Super man or Wonder Woman and count to ten. Can you hold the pose? Maybe try for a bit longer.
Try some star breathing or one of our mindful activities
